Anne-Marie de Rivera - Abstract - Figure Figurative - Portrait Artist
Her abstract and representational work blends European influence with the colors, passion and folklore of Latin America, resulting in a unique, vibrant style. Fascinated by the animal form and the human figure, she focuses on the intrinsic expression particular to her subjects and their interrelationship.
Painting in oils, acrylics and mixed media, she has completed numerous commissioned pieces of people and pets for private collectors.
Anne-Marie de Rivera was born in New York City of Belgian and Dutch parents and educated in Canada, Chile and Switzerland, graduating from l’Ecole des Beaux Arts de Geneve. She was then commissioned by l’Opera de Geneve to design the set for "David and Goliath."
At age 22 she moved to Mexico, contributing to the development of international coastal resorts for twelve years. After returning to the United States in 1975 and raising her children, she resumed her painting career in 1988, exhibited internationally at the “Salon des Artistes Francais "93" at the Grand Palais in Paris, “The World Contemporary Art ‘98” in Los Angeles, and in 2000 at the “Centro Cultural de las Condes” in Santiago, Chile, among many others.
